Locals Guide to the Best Farmers Markets in 2025

As a local Edmontonian who loves visiting a bustling farmers market, I’m excited to share my insider’s guide to the city’s freshest produce, unique handmade products, and unforgettable community vibes. Here are the must-visit Edmonton farmers markets, each one special for its own reasons!

Old Strathcona Farmers Market
Saturday, 8:00am–3:00pm | 10310 83 Ave NW, Edmonton

Why visit Old Strathcona Farmers Market?
Known as the heart of Edmonton’s farmers market scene, the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market is a lively indoor destination that’s open year-round. Experience over 130 local vendors offering Alberta produce, designer jewelry, fresh bread, and international foods. As one of the longest-running weekend markets in Edmonton, it always has live music and an energetic vibe.

Local Tip:
Parking fills up quickly—consider biking or taking transit!

St.Albert Farmers Market
Saturday, 10:00am–3:00pm | St. Anne St & St. Thomas St, St. Albert (just northwest of Edmonton)

Why visit St. Albert Farmers Market?
This is Western Canada’s largest outdoor farmers market with hundreds of vendors and a gorgeous community vibe. You can spend hours tasting gourmet treats, browsing craft booths, and joining in local festivities – a fantastic weekend trip from Edmonton.

Local Tip:
Arrive early and wear comfy shoes, this one goes on forever!

Downtown Farmers Market
Saturday, 10:00am–3:00pm | 104 Street & Jasper Ave

Why visit Downtown Famer’s Market?
This outdoor market is a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Set against the historic brick facades of 104 Street, you’ll find 45+ vendors selling everything from just-picked berries to artisanal soaps and home décor. There’s a modern, urban energy here – I’ve enjoyed everything from food truck pierogis to locally brewed kombucha on a single stroll.

Bountiful Farmers Market
Saturday, 9:00am–4:00pm & Sunday, 10:00am–4:00pm | 3696 97 Street NW

This massive indoor market is my go-to when Edmonton’s weather isn’t cooperating. With over 115 vendors, you’ll find local meats, cheeses, produce, fresh flower – and a jaw-dropping selection of international street food. The market is always lively, but never overwhelming. It’s super family-friendly, with crafts for kids and lots of space to wander.

Local Tip:
This market is open year round so it’s great place to explore when it’s rainy or in the midst of the winter blues.

Callingwood Farmers Market
Sunday, 10:00am–3:00pm | 69 Ave & 177 Street NW

Callingwood is Edmonton’s largest outdoor market, and it’s been a local institution for over 40 years. I love how community-focused it feels, with up to 130 vendors: expect everything from local honey and dog treats to fresh veggies and insanely good cheesecake bars from Crafty Cooks.

Local Tip:
If you’re new to markets, this is a perfect introduction – laid-back, accessible, and classic.
